Intent -The ground is used by children of three different schools. The language of study of the children as well as their age groups vary, hence when they come together to play in the ground there exists a transparent boundary within which the different groups exist. The aim is to create a space that harnesses the colliding energies of the children and positively builds a foundation of comradery and instill the idea of learning being fun and a oasis like space that breaks the monotonity of the area that acts as common space for the people of the area through the experience of a playground .
The aim is to do so by creating an open structure that allows children to flow from one part to the other, promoting movement and activity. Smaller cavities would give a space for children and people of the area to read in and occupy a slightly more private space whilst open spaces and circulation paths will provide a place for children to run around. The louvered walls when open, would provide for good cross ventilation and would provide shelter from the elements when closed
